2017 HAWAII 'UKULELE FESTIVAL

Our upcoming Hawaii Ukulele Festival, November 17-19, Princess Kaiulani Hotel, is incredibly unique in several ways. We effectively combine the world’s finest ukulele with builders and teachers who are acknowledged to be the best available.  Our player instructors are degreed, published, recorded and veterans of stage appearances throughout the world.  Through sight and live sound, we will experience antique ukulele that still are able to sound terrific  One other very special aspect of our festival is our embrace of kanikapila.

The main reason why people around the world so enjoy ukulele is to have fun, especially in small informal groups given to strumming and singing ——— what we term kanikapila.  So we embrace kanikapila because of its magnificent rewards and also because this is what appeals to the majority of ukulele folk anywhere.

Our instructional emphasis in ukulele also embraces kanikapila and we have found in the last year that our efforts in promoting kanikapila in our various meetings and community service events have lead to significant success in helping people EXPERIENCE it.  It’s FUN and quite emotionally rewarding.

Below is the Festival Schedule which outlines the weekend's activities.

  • The Festival takes place in the Ainahau Showroom & Foyer. When you arrive at the Princess Kaiulani Hotel, you can find us by locating the Pikake Terrace restaurant, then take the escalators up to the second floor Ainahau Showroom.
